Keeping the population hydrated is made easier by water treatment in dubai!
Groundwater and desalinated seawater are the UAE’s primary water sources. Groundwater is commonly used for agriculture, while seawater is desalinated for drinking water. Around five percent of UAE’s population’s water use is treated waste water.
water treatment in dubai is becoming more popular
Global temperatures and population growth are increasing the demand for water at the same time. In the UAE, temperatures are especially high, and fresh water is scarce. A viable solution is therefore being implemented for water treatment. Desalinating seawater is time consuming and expensive for the UAE, like many other countries. The number of seawater desalination plants in Abu Dhabi in 2010 was eight. A joint venture is a partnership between a foreign business and the government. With four solar-powered pilot desalination plants in Masdar City, local authorities plan to reduce the burden on these primary water desalination plants.
About 90 percent of the groundwater in the area is saline. These groundwaters can be up to eight times saltier water treatment in dubai than seawater in certain areas. Aquifers of freshwater are also present in the area. Natural groundwater recharge totals about 300 million cubic meters per year. In Abu Dhabi, waste water amounting to about 550,000 cubic meters is produced every day. Twenty specialized waste water treatment plants clean this water through a special water purification system. Although the water is considered safe, it cannot be used as drinking water in Dubai. Green spaces desperately in need of moisture reuse it instead.
As the UAE becomes more parched, waste water sanitation efforts are likely to increase. There is no doubt that treated waste water is either dumped or left unused by local water and natural resources experts. Such waste should not be tolerated in a country with a high water stress index.
In today’s world, water is the “new oil”
Water is becoming the most scarce commodity in the water treatment in dubai and throughout the world. Consequently, it is often referred to as “the new oil” by economists and political scientists. It is quite possible that a number of geopolitical conflicts will arise if seawater and waste water treatment efforts do not dramatically improve in cost and efficiency over the next few decades. Residents of Dubai have even resorted to using mineral water to alleviate hair fall caused by the low quality of water in Dubai.
Water consumption in the UAE is one of the highest in the world. Water consumption, waste, and general use are egregiously high in communities where residents live a luxurious lifestyle. In order to meet Dubai’s high demand and consumption of filtered drinking water, the solution at the moment is to treat the water in a number of ways. It will take time to determine if this strategy is wise.
